I am a dreamer studying conjoint degree in BA/BDES: majoring in education, art history and design. My main interest in design is graphic, fashion as well as animation (and so on). My style leans towards minimalism which is influenced by German industrial designer Dieter Rams philosophy on a perfect design design.

I am easily influenced by a lot of things like poem, my personal experiences, interactions with people and even random things. These things influence my design, art and even fictional writing.

I specifically chose Design because of my growing passion for arts and design from my youngest. From this degree, I want to further develop on my existing skillsets and technique to the highest level. I want to be able to explore more design areas so I can widen my definition of design.

I was born in Waiharakeke in Aotearoa in 2001 but my whakapapa is Korea. Although I have lived my whole life in New Zealand, I had struggled with my identity and sense of belonging (and still do to this day). I always stood out amongst the Western society and Korean society because I looked different and couldn't speak my mother's tongue. I never felt I fit in so I disassociate myself from it and be a "lone wolf.' However that changed later on as I met a collective group of people with similar interests and struggles.
In 2019, I had a chance to travel to Korea alone. My experience in Korea was memorable and definitely enlighten by what I have turned my back on. The history, the architecture and culture was very refreshing to look and learn. This experience has motivated me to integrate my culture into my work and learn more about my roots - including cultures of Aotearoa.
There is still a lot of things that I want to study and/or pursue. I want to get a diploma in secondary teaching or TESOL or get a clinical certificate in art therapy. I definitely want to teach either in New Zealand as a specialised teacher in the creative field or liberal arts, or teach English at my father’s home town. I developed interest in art therapy because I use it as a tool when I am dealing with negative emotions and I want to introduce that tool to people who is need mentally. If by any chances I plan on not doing post-grad, I want to be create art installations or pursue in illustrations in either books or webtoons. I want to provoke and challenge the mind of users or viewers or aid the ones that need the most help.
